KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The No. 8 Western Michigan men's soccer team dominated Green Bay 3-0 to improve to 12-2-1 on the year. Senior Forward Brandon Bye notched two second half gaols to bring his total to 10 for the season.

"The guys got the result which is the most important thing." head coach Chad Wiseman said. "The game overall lacked energy and intensity from both teams. I think when you get to this point in the season everyone has their eyes on big weekend conference matches."

The Broncos were on the offensive to start the game and took six corner kicks in the first half. WMU broke through in the 19th minute after redshirt junior Tommy Clark sent a ball into the box off a corner that junior Kosti Moni was able to get a head on to send into the back of the net. It was Moni's second game-winning goal in as many games.

WMU increased its lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute. Redshirt junior Jake Rufe got past his defender and played a ball to Clark who was able to find Bye for the goal. It was Clark's second assist of the game and Bye's ninth goal of the season.

Bye was able to find another goal in the 60th minute. Senior Jay McIntosh intercepted a pass then slipped a ball onto Bye who beat the goalkeeper to give the Broncos a 3-0 lead.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Drew Shepherd recorded his eighth shutout of the year, 24th career, tyin the school record. WMU has now recorded three consecutive shutouts.

"We will direct our full attention to West Virginia. They are a very strong side and will we have to be at our best if we want to get a result." Wiseman stated. "It should make for a very exciting game Friday."

WMU will travel to West Virginia for its next game and third Mid-American Conference matchup of the season on Friday, Oct. 20 starting at 7 p.m.
