KALAMAZOO, Mich.- No. 13 Western Michigan's redshirt junior goalkeeper
Elijah Michaels has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week.

In his first career start and complete game in goal, Michaels made five saves in Saturday's 1-0 win at home against Akron. The victory was WMU's first against the Zips since 2014.

Michaels was also named Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week.

Michaels is the third Bronco to be named to TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week this season, joining senior midfielder
Brandon Bye and senior forward
Jay McIntosh.
Western Michigan has a 10-2-1 record this season and has defeated three Top 25 opponents. The Broncos downed No. 21 Butler, 3-2, and No. 22 Michigan, 1-0, both ranked in the USC Poll. WMU opened MAC play with a 1-0 victory over Akron, just the Broncos' third ever regular season win over the Zips in school history. Akron was ranked No. 8 by TopDrawerSoccer heading into the matchup.
WMU's RPI is ranked No. 9 this week, the highest among Mid-American Conference programs.
