Breanna Mobley Named College Sports Madness MAC Player of the Week

This is the second time this season Mobley has earned the award.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan sophomore forward Breanna Mobley was named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) following her impressive game against Akron in the team's MAC opener. This is the second time Mobley has won the award this season and third for WMU as a team, as senior guard Meredith Shipman won the award earlier this season as well.

Mobley started the MAC season off in a big way, helping the Broncos to a perfect start with her sixth double-double of the season and 12th of her career. She finished with 21 points and game-high 16 rebounds, which also tied her season high and the highest number any individual has had for the Broncos this season. Ten of her rebounds came on the offensive glass, as she helped WMU outscore Akron 15-5 in second chance points and outrebound the Zips 45-30. She was extremely efficient during the game, going 9-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.

Mobley has been a huge part of WMU's nine-game winning streak, which is the longest in program history since the 1994-95 season. She has now scored in double-figures in six straight games and grabbed 10+ rebounds in seven of her 11 games this season.

WMU, who is off to a 10-2 to the season, will take its nine-game winning streak to Oxford, Ohio to battle the Redhawks of Miami on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
