"Coaches and players live for game day, to see if your best can beat their best, and I've been fortunate to share some very special wins with our support staff, assistant coaches and student-athletes over the years," Morin said.  "I was also lucky to follow in the footsteps of Coach Vredevelt who did it the right way and had some great teams so that makes it even more special. It also starts with a commitment from WMU and support from Dr. Dunn and Kathy Beauregard providing opportunities for all of us associated with our program to pursue our goals and dreams, which we're very thankful for. "

Morin, a 10-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year, passed the legendary Jack Vredevelt with 349 career wins at Western Michigan. Morin has led WMU to eight MAC regular season championships and 11 MAC Tournament championships.

The Phoenix captured the doubles points, winning at both No. 1 and No. 2, but the Broncos came right back to claim the first three singles matches. Senior Matt Hamilton earned a quick win at No. 2, Eric Olivarez earned a win at No. 6 to improve to 13-4 this season and freshman Jannik Opitz earned a win at No. 4 to move to 15-3 this season, leading the team in wins. After Green Bay won at No. 5, sophomore Matej Svjetlicic and freshman Kennosuke Nouchi won the final two matches at No. 3 and No. 1, respectively.

The Broncos, who moved to 3-2 this season, will head to Tennessee next weekend to face Vanderbilt on Saturday, Feb. 4 at noon and Middle Tennessee State on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 10 a.m.
