KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team will have its second home meet of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m., against Eastern Michigan as part of "Alumni Day." The Broncos will recognize the numerous alumni in attendance immediately following the meet.
The team is coming off its best outing of the season last week at Kent State when the Broncos scored a 193.750. Senior
Anna Corbett had the highest all-around score by a Bronco this season with a 39.000, after winning her third straight vault title of the season with a 9.825. Sophomore
Rachael Underwood set a new career-high in the event as she tied Corbett for her career vault title with a 9.825.
Last season against Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Jessi Juncaj and
Jessie Peszek had standout performances on bars, scoring a 9.850 and 9.825 respectively to earn top-five finishes. Corbett set her career-high on vault at the event with a 9.900.
Sunday's meet will be televised on ESPN3. Admission is free to the public and the team will be available for autographs at the conclusion of the meet.
