KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team makes its return to the nation's Top 10 after taking 10th in both the US College Hockey Online and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls released on Monday.
This is the first time WMU (13-6-3, 7-6-1-1 NCHC) has been back in the top 10 since March 11, 2013 when the team held the ninth spot in the USCHO.com poll. The no. 10 spot is also the highest ranking in either polls that the Broncos have held this season. The team has also now been ranked for 10 consecutive polls, dating back to Nov. 14.
Western Michigan sits in third place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference and heads to Miami for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game marks the season debut for WMU on CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m. Saturday's game can be seen live on NCHC.tv. The Broncos return home on Feb. 3 and 4 to host Arizona State.
