After Iowa won the first doubles match of the day, the duo of Daniel Loebel/Kennosuke Nouchi earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 to improve to 5-1 this season and bring the doubles point down to the final match. The Hawkeyes earned a 6-4 win at No. 1 to claim the point.
Iowa claimed the first two singles matches at No. 6 and No. 4, but junior Maik Steiner put WMU on the board with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 to bring the score to 3-1. The Hawkeyes clinched the match with a win at No. 5, but following that senior Matt Hamilton earned a comeback win over Robin Haden, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Nouchi took the Hawkeyes No. 1 player to a third set, but lost it.
