KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team looks to remain perfect during the spring season traveling to Iowa City to face Big Ten foe Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 21. The match is set for a noon start time inside the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.

The Broncos enter Saturday's contest with a 2-0 non-conference record. WMU defeated both Illinois-Chicago (7-0) and Detroit (6-1) last Sunday at home pushing its home winning streak to 27 matches. Following the victories, head coach Dave Morin tied Jack Vredevelt for the most wins in WMU men's tennis history with 348. Four players earned two singles wins last weekend in Matt Hamilton, Kennosuke Nouchi, Jannik Opitz and Matej Svjetlicic. Opitz improved to 14-1 this season and has won five straight matches, both of which lead the team.
The Iowa Hawkeyes kick off their 2017 spring season this weekend welcoming Western Michigan and Creighton. Saturday's match-up will be the 35th meeting between the Hawkeyes and the Broncos with Iowa taking the last two meetings, both in Iowa City.
Following Saturday's road match, the Broncos travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to face another B1G foe Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m.
