Incoming WBB Player Jordy Walker Named to McDonald's All-American Nominee List

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Jordy Walker, an incoming recruit for the Western Michigan women's basketball team, was named to the 2017 McDonald's All-American Nominee list as announced by the game's organizers.

Walker, who will be joining WMU during the 2017-18 season, became the fastest player in Mona Shores High School history to score 1,000 points during her junior season, where she helped lead her squad to their third straight OK Black Conference championship. As a junior, she was selected as an All-State Honorable Mention by Associated Press, BCAM's Best First Team Class, First Team Detroit News Class A and Detroit Free Press First Team. She secured her third straight season as an OK Black All-Conference First Team selection and her second straight year as an MLive All-Area Dream Team. She also maintains a GPA of 3.89.

On the girl's side, Texas has 123 players nominated, followed by 27 from Oregon, 22 from California and 21 from Maryland and Mississippi; Michigan came in with 13 including Walker. The Michigan list included recruits headed to Michigan, Penn State, Temple, Georgia Tech and Oakland among others.
