KANSAS CITY, Mo., -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team has maintained its spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American Great Lakes Region poll after sweeping Oakland and Western Illinois over the weekend. The Broncos enter this week ranked eighth.

Last weekend Western Michigan beat the Grizzlies on the road 1-0 before a 2-0 win over the Leathernecks at home. WMU is up from the previous week and has reached as high as seventh in the first regional poll of the season.

The Broncos are off to a hot start at 4-1-0 and have earned clean sheets in three of their last four games. This weekend WMU heads on the road to Loyola Chicago on Friday evening and then host Valparaiso on Sunday at 1 p.m.
