SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior Hanne Christensen led the Western Michigan cross country team at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational with an 11^th place finish individually as the Broncos finished in 18^th place overall in Women's Gold 5K race.

Bradley won the Women's Gold 5K with a team score of 103, while Notre Dame, UTEP, Oakland and Northern Iowa rounded out the top-five. Eight Broncos set personal record times on Friday, the team's third meet of the young season.

Christensen finished with a personal record time of 17:34.4, just narrowly missing the top-10 by less than one second. Sophomore Sarah Anderson, who led the team last time out at the MSU Spartan Invitational, finished in 28^th place with a personal record time of 17:48.6. Rounding out the Broncos top-five was senior Daya Wagh (127^th), senior Amy Littlefield (144^th) and freshman Haley Ritsema (182^nd), who set a PR with a time of 19:33.3. Other finishers in the Gold Race were freshman Kirstin McGahan (185^th), sophomore Makenzie Evers (187^th), who also set a PR time of 19:43.1 and freshman Abigail Shaver (194^th) with a PR time of 19:49.3.

In the Open 5K race, which took place before the Women's Gold 5K race, freshman Sydney Del Valle led the group of five Broncos that competed with a 74^th place finish and a personal record time of 19:38.5. Following Del Valle, was freshman Brittney Hall in 82^nd (20:14.1) and the close group of freshman Katherine Menke (93^rd), sophomore Emily Davis (94^th) and freshman Mattie Goodwin (96^th). Davis and Goodwin each set PR's with times of 21:10.1 and 21:57.6, respectively.
