Volleyball Alumni Match Set for Saturday at 5 p.m.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan volleyball team is hosting its annual Alumni Game on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Read Fieldhouse. Admission to the game is free.

The Broncos are set to embark on a challenging 2016 season that officially begins with a tournament at Notre Dame beginning on Aug. 26 against Cleveland State. WMU then takes on Seton Hall and the host Fighting Irish on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Western Michigan's regular season home-opener is against Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. The Broncos also host Tennessee, Xavier and UW-Milwaukee for the Holliday Inn West Invitational on Sept. 9-10.

Miami, Toledo, Ball State, Akron, Buffalo, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, and Eastern Michigan all come to University Arena in Mid-American Conference play.

Last season WMU beat the alumni team 3-1 to kick off the season that saw them finish second in the MAC West after going 10-6 in conference play.
