Zach Terrell has been named to the Manning Award Watch List. The Manning Award Watch list includes 30 of the top quarterbacks in the nation heading into the 2016 season.
Terrell has achieved notoriety this summer, being ranked as the No. 12 most efficient QB nationally according to NFL.com. He ranked seventh in the FBS last season in quarterback efficiency and was 10
th in accuracy, completing 67.0 percent of his passes (262-of-391). He finished the year with a career-high 3,526 passing yards including 297 yards and two touchdowns in the team's first bowl win over Middle Tennessee State.
Terrell enters 2016 as the fifth ranked QB among active players in completion percentage with a mark of 63.9 percent. He is also ranked eighth among active players in career efficiency with a mark of 150.25. Last season he showed the ability to put up big numbers against elite competition as he threw for a season-high 365 yards and two TDs against No. 4 Michigan State in Waldo Stadium.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
This nomination adds to a growing number of other such awards over the past month. In addition to the Manning Award, Terrell has been also named to the watch lists for the Wuerffel Trophy, the CFPA Award, the Davey O'Brien Award, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and the AFCA Good Works Team.
