KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Leighah-Amori Wool, a 2017-18 recruit for the Western Michigan women's basketball team, became the first female player in Evanston High School history to surpass 1,000 points scored on Tuesday night.

Wool, who entered the game two points shy of 1,000, scored 14 points as her Wildkits dominated Niles North 84-34 Tuesday night for the team's ninth straight win. Wool helped her defense force an amazing 42 turnovers as the team improved to 2-0 in the Central Suburban League South Division. She played less than half of the game, but finished 6-for-11 from the floor and connected on her first two 3-pointers.
Wool was named an ESPN Top-100 Midwest player. In 2015-16, she was an All-State selection and entered her senior season as the all-time leader in points and 3-point field goals at Evanston High School. She's a two-time CSL South All-Conference selection and has led her team to three-straight IHSA Regional Championships. Wool also carries a 3.6 GPA and has been on her school's honor roll in every semester.
The Broncos, who have won five straight games, will travel to Detroit to face the Titans on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.
