KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Senior guard Meredith Shipman was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West and CollegeSportsMadness.com MAC Player of the Week after she helped the Broncos to their seventh straight win of the season on Saturday. The Broncos are off to an 8-2 start, the best start in program history since the 1993-94 season.

Shipman guided the Broncos to an 83-64 win on Saturday, for the team's fourth straight double-digit win during the seven-game winning streak. She poured in a game-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and went 5-for-9 from the beyond the arc, recording a new season-high for 3-pointers made. She also finished with six rebounds, which was second on the team and a game-high three steals, which was as many as the Braves had as a team. Shipman also led the team in minutes played (35) and tied for second in assists (3).
Sophomore Breanna Mobley was given these same two awards in the first week of the season, making Shipman the second player to earn these honors this season. The Broncos will look for their eighth straight win of the season as the team goes on the road to face Chicago State on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m.
