KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team heads into the holiday break ranked 16th in the US College Hockey Online poll and receiving votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

The Broncos (8-5-3, 4-5-1-1 NCHC) move up two spots from last week's USCHO.com poll after a split with No. 8/9 North Dakota over the weekend. WMU comes in unofficially at 16th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll after receiving 33 points. The team has been ranked for fifth consecutive week, its longest streak since the 2012-13 season.

Western Michigan heads to the Great Lakes Invitational sitting in third place in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, sitting one point ahead of St. Cloud State.
