- Western Michigan is ranked inside the top-25 in each of the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll, Associated Press Poll and College Football Playoff Rankings for the first time in program history.Â
- Western Michigan begins the season 9-0 for the first time in program history. The Broncos defeated Ball State 52-20, last Tuesday. It marked the most points the Broncos have scored vs. a MAC opponent since scoring 54 vs. the Cardinals last season.
- Western Michigan's 34-10 win over Illinois earlier this season gave the Broncos two wins against B1G opponents for the first time in school history. Western Michigan opened the season with a 22-21 win over Northwestern.Â
- Wide receiver Corey Davis is currently the active leading receiver in the FBS with 4,796 yards, a title he ended the 2015 season with. He is currently the all-time MAC receiving record and 209 yards away from the all-time FBS receiving record.Â
- Davis leads the FBS in receiving TDs with 14 after scoring three touchdowns last week vs. Ball State. He finished with a program record 12 catches for 272 yards and the three TDs, giving him 47 touchdowns for his career, tied with Darius Watts for the most all-time in MAC history..
- Running back Jarvion Franklin set the Western Michigan program record for single game rushing yards with 281 at Akron. Franklin became the sixth player in Bronco history to eclipse the 3,000 rushing yard mark. He currently has 3,304 career rushing yards, fifth most in WMU history. He has 38 rushing TDs, one shy of the WMU record of 39 held by Jerome Persell.
Prestigious Honors
• Western Michigan quarterback
Zach Terrell was honored this week by two organizations who recognize both on field and off the field accomplishments.
• Terrell was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete, as he is just one of 12 players across all divisions of collegiate athletics from Division I to NAIA to be honored. There were a total of 156 nominees.
• Terrell also was named a semifinalist for the Wuerffel Trophy. He is among just 10 players from an original watch list of 88 who were named this summer.
• This would be the second time in Western Michigan history a player has been considered for both the Wuerffel Trophy and an NFF Scholar Athlete after Tim Hiller won both awards in 2009.
Record Breaker

Corey Davis continued to add to his accolades on Tuesday night with 12 catches for 272 yards and three TDs.
• Davis' 272 yards are a new Western Michigan record and he now has 47 career TDs, tying Darius Watts for the MAC career TD record.
• Davis has gone over 1,000 yards this season and is now the first receiver in FBS history to record four straight 900-yard-plus seasons.
• Davis leads the FBS with 14 TDs this year.Â

• Head Coach
P.J. Fleck has been named to two Coach of the Year Watch Lists.
• Fleck was named to the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Watch List along with 22 other candidates and on the Dodd Trophy Midseason Watch List with another 17 candidates.
• Fleck was the MAC Coach of the Year in 2014 for leading the best turnaround in the country from one win to eight wins.

• Western Michigan's 9-0 start has put the program among the elite in the country.
• The Broncos are currently one of just five programs in the country to be undefeated along with Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and Washington.

• Western Michigan currently has a 11-game winning streak dating back to last season, the longest all-time in program history.
• Overall the Broncos are 16-2 in their last 18 games, the best record over an 18-game stretch in program history.

Creating Chaos
• Western Michigan created chaos around Central Michigan QB Cooper Rush on Oct. 1, sacking him eight times.
• The eight sacks are the most by the Bronco defense since having nine vs. Ball State on Oct. 21, 2006.
• For the season, Western Michigan has 21 sacks, surpassing its total from all of last year.

• Western Michigan was the last team in the country to commit a turnover this season, with its first one coming in the seventh game.
• For the year, the Broncos are +15 in turnover margin, best in the country.
• The Broncos have 11 interceptions and seven fumble recoveries.Â
Explosive Offense
• Western Michigan has piled on the points in the first nine games, totaling 407, most in program history in that stretch.
• The 407 points includes a 70-point explosion against NCCU which was the most points scored by the Broncos since 1996.
• This year's average of 45.2 points per game is the most in the MAC and fourth most in the country.
Pound the Rock
• Against Akron, the Broncos had their best rushing day of the season thus far, totaling 374 yards on the ground.
• Included in that total was
Jarvion Franklin's 281 yards, a school record.
• Franklin has ran for 100+ yards in each of his last six games, and is eighth in the country this year with 1,018 yards.
• This year the Broncos have improved on the rushing attack, averaging 245.3 yards on the ground through nine games, good for 18th in the country.Â
Running to Daylight
• Western Michigan's running game has stood out amongst the entire country the last two seasons.Â
• In 2014
Jarvion Franklin took the country by storm with 1,550+ yards and 24 touchdowns en route to earning the MAC Offensive Player of the Year Award and Freshman All-American. His 24 TDs are the third most in a single season in the MAC.
• Last season,
Jamauri Bogan made his way into the record book, splitting carries with Franklin and racked up over 1,000 yards and 16 TDs himself. He began the season with another 100+ yard game at Northwestern, finishing with 103 yards on 22 carries.
• In the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl, Bogan ran for 216 yards and four TDs as he was named the Offensive MVP of the game.
• Franklin and Bogan's performance marked the first time since 2008-09 that the Broncos have seen 1,000 yard rushers in back-to-back seasons.

Setting a New Standard
• Linebacker
Robert Spillane was named MAC West Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season following his career-high 14-tackle performance against Eastern Michigan.
• His 14 tackles are the most by a Bronco since Justin Currie had 15 for Western Michigan in 2013.
• Twice this year, Spillane has come away with interceptions, at Illinois and at home vs. Northern Illinois.
• His stats have had him named MAC West Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, also following his forced fumble at Northwestern and at Illinois.
• For the season he leads the Broncos with 79 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and the two aforementioned interceptions.
Electrifying Returns
• Cornerback
Darius Phillips has provided electricity this season, returning a kickoff, punt, and three interceptions for  touchdowns.Â
• His 75-yard interception return against Ball State gave him three for the season and four for his career, both are Western Michigan program records.
• He is also the first player in Western Michigan history to score five non offensive TDs in a season.
• All three of Phillips' pick-sixes have been 70+ yards, beginning with a 70-yard return vs. Georgia Southern before taking back an 85-yard interception vs. Central Michigan. The 85-yard pick-six is the third of Phillips' career and is the third-longest in the country this season.
• Against Georgia Southern, Phillips returned his third career kickoff for a touchdown, and his second of 100-yards after also doing so against Michigan State last season.
• After earning All-America honors as a kick returner in 2014, Phillips fielded his first punts on Sept. 10 vs. North Carolina Central, returning the second punt of his career 66 yards for the first punt return TD by a Bronco since Greg Jennings in 2004.
• Phillips has earned MAC West Player of the Week honors twice this season following the NC Central and Georgia Southern games.
