KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan quarterback Zach Terrell has been named a 2016 Wuerffel Trophy semifinalist, the organization announced today. The trophy is known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service," which is presented annually by the All Sports Association.

The Wuerffel Trophy, named after Wuerffel, the 1996 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from the University of Florida, is awarded to the Football Bowl Subdivision player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

He has received multiple awards for his service, including the 2014-15 WMU Community Service Award, 2014 Idaho Potato Bowl Humanitarian Award and 2014 WMU Coxswain Spring Leadership Award.
