WHERE WE STAND

The Broncos (1-2), who have suffered both losses this season to B1G teams, will head to Kansas City, Mo., for the UMKC Plaza Lights Classic over Thanksgiving. WMU started the season with a 76-63 win over Davidson where the team came back from a halftime deficit. WMU has dropped two straight following the 1-0 start, first to No. 21 Michigan State where the Broncos owned a lead with under 1:00 left and the second came in a road loss as WMU traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich., in their first road test of the season. The Broncos fell at the hands of the Wolverines, who were receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

LOW POST DOMINANCE
The duo of sophomore Breanna Mobley, who was named the MAC West Player of the Week and the College Sports Madness MAC Player of the Week in the opening week, and redshirt junior Marley Hill have been key for the Broncos this season. Mobley and Hill are first and tied for second on the team in scoring at 14.3 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Mobley leads the team in rebounding at 7.0 per game while Hill is tied for second at 6.7.

WIMBY IMPRESSES EARLY
Sophomore point guard Deja Wimby has played extremely well through the first three games this season, averaging 6.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She leads the team in assists and is third in rebounding. She set a new career-high in assists (8) against Davidson in the opener and recorded her first career double-double against No. 21 Michigan State with career-highs in points (12) and rebounds (10).

IN THE GYM RANGE
Senior Meredith Shipman is now 12th in career 3-pointers made (107) and is tied for fifth in career 3-point field goal percentage (.354). She has now had at least one 3-pointer made in 15 straight games dating back to last season, with two against Davidson, four against No. 21 Michigan State and one against Michigan this season. Last season, she finished with 76 made 3-pointers, a mark good for a tie in third place in WMU history.

THE MATCHUPS
This will be the third ever meeting between Western Michigan and UMKC, with the series tied at 1-1. The Broncos won the last meeting 117-90 on Nov. 26, 2003 in Kalamazoo, the third most points WMU has ever scored in a game. Casey Rost, a two-time All-American at WMU, scored 40 points in that game, the second most points scored in a game individually in WMU history. Eastern Kentucky owns a 2-1 advantage in the series, with the last meeting ending with a 71-60 EKU win in Kalamazoo on Nov. 20, 2011.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Both UMKC and Eastern Kentucky will enter the Plaza Lights Classic with a 1-2 record. The Kangaroos have dropped both of their home games this season, first to Tulsa and next to Western Illinois, but went on the road to defeat Wichita State. They are led by Samantha Waldron and Kristen Moore, who score 12.7 and 12.3 points per game, respectively.

EKU, who faces Morgan State on Friday, opened their season with a win over Bowling Green but have since dropped two straight to Kent State and Western Carolina. The Colonels have three players who score in double-figures, including Shavontae Naylor (15.3), Jalen O'Bannon (11.3) and Maria Massengill (11.3).
