KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team is set to host the WMU Super Challenge this weekend, its final tournament of the Fall season. Play will begin on Friday at Sorensen Courts (Weather dependent) at 11:30 a.m.

On Friday and Saturday, the teams will play one round of doubles at starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by one round of singles and a second round of doubles. On Sunday, the final round of singles play will start at 11 a.m.
The Broncos last competed the weekend of Oct. 21-23 as some members of the team went to the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing, Mich., and the rest of the team traveled to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Regional. Senior Barbare Eristavi leads the team with a perfect 9-0 record this fall while senior Meika Ashby sits with an impressive 8-1 record. Freshman Denise Azcui has seven wins while junior Olivia Myers has six.
In doubles play, the duo of senior Tracy Kuhle/sophomore Melina Lyubomirova made a deep run at the ITA Midwest Regionals, advancing to the Quarterfinals with a win over the No. 5 ranked team in the nation from Ohio State before falling to the No. 24 ranked team from Illinois. Individually in doubles play, freshman Gabriela Slavova leads the way with a 9-2 record while Kuhle is 9-3 and Eristavi/Ashby are both 8-4.
The WMU Super Challenge will be played at Sorensen Courts but can possibly be moved indoors to West Hills Athletic Club if weather permits. Admission to all home tennis matches is free of charge.
