KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan cross country team placed six on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) team, announced Friday morning by the conference office.

To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season only are considered.
Sarah Anderson - Sophomore - 3.79 - Exercise Science
Anderson finished top-two on the team in every race she competed in this season. She led the team at the Spartan Invitational with a ninth place finish and earned one more top-10 finish at the George Dales Invitational. She finished in 19th place at the MAC Championships and 70th place at the NCAA Regionals.
Hanne Christensen - Junior -3.54 - English-Creative Writing
In all the races she competed, Christensen led the team in all but one race this season. She finished first on the team at the George Dales Invitational, the Notre Dame Invite, the Pre-National Invitational, the MAC Championships and the NCAA Regionals. She finished 16th at the MAC Championships, narrowly missing out on All-MAC accolades, and 61st at the NCAA Regionals.
Emily Davis - Sophomore - 3.83 - Pre-Food/Consumer Marketing
Davis competed in six races this season for the Broncos. She had a season-best time at the Notre Dame Invitational where she finished 94th overall.
Makenzie Evers - Redshirt-Sophomore - 3.36 - Pre-Athletic Training
Evers ran in six races for the Broncos this season, finishing among the team's top-five once at the EMU Fall Classic with a 56th place finish. She ran in the MAC Championships, but did not finish the race.
Amy Littlefield - Senior - 3.26 - Pre-Social Work
Littlefield was a consistent top-five finisher on the team in the seven races she competed in this season. She finished first on the team at the EMU Fall Classic, with an overall finish of 37th. She came in 72nd at the MAC Championships and 147th at the NCAA Regionals.
Daya Wagh - Senior - 3.22 - Exercise Science
Wagh really ran well towards the end the season, finishing third on the team at the NCAA Regionals, MAC Championships and the Pre-National Invitational. She also finished third on the team at the Notre Dame Invitational and fifth on the team at the Spartan Invitational. Overall, she finished 38th at the MAC Championships and 77th at the NCAA Regionals.
