KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan wide receiver
Corey Davis has been named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced today. The award recognizes the season's outstanding receiver regardless of position.
This season Corey has 62 catches for 1,029 yards and 14 touchdowns. His 14 TDs ranks third in the FBS this year, while his 1,029 yards are 13
th most in the country. He is averaging 6.2 receptions per game, good for 21
st in the nation.
Davis is currently second on the all-time FBS career receiving list with 4,814 yards, just 191 shy of the all-time record set by Trevor Insley of Nevada who had 5,005 yards from 1996-99. For his career he has 47 TDs, third most in FBS history.
Corey has teamed up with quarterback
Zach Terrell for 46 career touchdowns. That is the second most in FBS history among a WR-QB duo, just five shy of the all-time record of 51 set by the tandem of Jarrett Dillard and Chase Clement from 2005-08.
