The Invite opened up with one round of doubles, followed by one round of singles and the final round of doubles. In the first doubles round of the day, the duo of senior Tracy Kuhle/sophomore Melina Lyubomirova opened with a 6-1 win over Wind/Sysouvanh while the team of senior Barbare Eristavi/freshman Gabriela Slavova also earned a win. Both teams moved to 3-0 for the weekend. In the second round of doubles, both teams of Denise Azcui/Katja Fevralev and Olivia Myers/Meika Ashby bounced back from early losses to win their final doubles match of the day.
In singles, Kuhle, who is playing in the top flight, moved onto the championship with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Artamonova of Oakland. Kuhle will face Dora Andrejski of Lewis College on Sunday. Lyubomirova stayed perfect on the weekend as well and moved onto the Black Flight Championship with a comeback win over Sara Sherif of IUPUI. She'll face Nora Mindiyarova of Lewis in the championship on Sunday. In the Gold Flight, both Eristavi and Azcui earned wins to move onto the championship, where they will likely face other opponents rather than playing against one another. Same result in the Brown Flight, as Ashby and Slavova each earned wins to move to the championship.
The Broncos will finish out the Bronco Invitational on Sunday with one round of singles play at Sorensen Courts. Admission to all home tennis events in free.
