KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Jannik Opitz, Daniel Loebel and Nick Schnobel of the Western Michigan men's tennis team were all crowned Flight Champions on the final day of the 2016 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Invite at West Hills Sunday morning.

Opitz finished the fall season with just one loss after defeating Thomas Caputo of Binghamton 7-6 (2), 7-5 in the Flight Two Championship. Loebel earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Fridell of Buffalo in the Flight Four Championship; He did not lose a set in all three matches this weekend. Schnobel won a tough match over Nittolo of Buffalo in the Flight Five Championship, 2-6, 7-6 (7), 10-8. Matt Hamilton, Matej Svjetlicic and Kris Knof all earned wins on Sunday as well.
With this tournament coming to an end, the Broncos have finished up play in the Fall. They return to action on January 15 with a pair of matches against UIC and Detroit at home.
