KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan football continued its climb up the rankings on Sunday, moving to a program-high No. 17 in the
Associated Press Top-25 poll and No. 18 in the
USA Today Amway Coaches poll.
The Broncos are currently 8-0, its best start to a season since also going 8-0 in 1941. They are one of just five unbeaten teams in the country joining Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and Washington.
The team has scored 34 or more points in seven straight games, including at least 40 or more in all four MAC games this season. The average of 44.8 points per game ranks fourth in the country.
Western Michigan will play in front of a national TV audience on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2 when it heads to Ball State in Muncie, Ind. It is the first of two straight midweek MACtion games.
