Men's Tennis Finishes Up Play at Rocket Invite; Loebel Falls at ITA All-American

TOLEDO, Ohio/ TULSA, Okla. – The Western Michigan men's tennis finished up play at the Toledo Rocket Invitational on Sunday, once again dominating in singles play with a 7-1 overall record. Senior Daniel Loebel was the lone member of the team to compete in the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Okla.; he dropped his singles match against Vuk Budic of Illinois, 6-2, 6-4.

At the Rocket Invitational, freshman Jannik Opitz kept his perfect record alive with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Valpo's Brandon Ancona to improve to 7-0 this season. Sophomore Eric Olivarez suffered his first loss of the season to fall to 7-1 while sophomore Kris Knof earned two wins on Sunday, improving to 7-2. Junior Billy Heckman, sophomore Nick Schnobel and freshman Kennosuke Nouchi all earned wins in singles play.

In doubles, the duo of Schnobel/Heckman won the only doubles match of the day for the Broncos to stay perfect at 6-0 this season.
