KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan women's soccer team has three regular season Mid-American Conference matches remaining in the 2016 season including two road matchups this weekend. The Broncos (9-6-1, 3-4-1 MAC) travel to Bowling Green State University on Thursday (7 p.m.) and Toledo (1 p.m.) on Sunday afternoon.
WMU went unbeaten in two home conference matches last weekend, defeating Buffalo and tallying a point during its 0-0 draw against Akron. Bowling Green fell at Ball State before gathering a 0-0 tie on the road at Miami during its MAC contests last weekend, while the Rockets dropped both conference matchups to the RedHawks and the Cardinals.

WESTERN MICHIGAN AT A GLANCE // 9-6-1, 3-4-1 MAC
Last Friday, the Broncos rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Buffalo, 2-1. Western Michigan tallied two goals in the first half while playing stiff defense to hold the Bulls off the board in the second. Juniors

Kendall Juhnke scored for WMU, while midfielder's
Liz Abro and
Alyssa Burke dished out the two assists.
On Sunday, due to field conditions at the WMU Soccer Complex, the game was played at the Kalamazoo College's Mackenzie field during senior day. After dominating possession and placing 10 shots on goal, the Broncos were unable to put the ball in the net. However with stellar defensive play, Western Michigan recorded its sixth shutout of the season as the game ended in a 0-0 draw. The tie was the first for the Broncos this season.
Following the weekend, Western Michigan remains in fourth place in the MAC West standings, ahead of Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Twelve different Broncos have scored this season with Barber leading the way connecting on four goals. Three WMU players have tallied three goals apiece this season including Abro, Juhnke and Kahn. Sophomore midfielder Burke is second in the MAC in assists recording six on the season including one this past weekend.
BOWLING GREEN AT A GLANCE // 7-8-1, 2-5-1 MAC
The Falcons played two away games last weekend, falling at Ball State, 2-1, on Friday, Oct. 14, before recording their first draw of the season, 0-0, at Miami. After the weekend, the Falcons sit in fourth place in the MAC East standings.
Bowling Green has proven to be a second half team, scoring 14 of its 17 goals after the break. The Falcons hold a 4-4-0 record at home, while outscoring their opponents 8-7. Six different Falcons have scored in their 16 matches this year, including the team-high six goals from Skylar Fleak. The junior forward also holds the team high 13 points on six goals and one assist. Two different goalkeepers have logged minutes this season between the pipes. Freshman goalie Kathaleen Duwve has been called upon to start in eight games holding a 1.21 goals against average and a 3-4-1 record for the Falcons.
The head-to-head matchup between the Broncos and the Falcons occurred late in the season last year on Oct. 25, 2015. Western Michigan travelled to Bowling Green defeating the Falcons, 2-1. WMU outshot BGSU 33-13 during the afternoon while Kahn recorded two goals for the Broncos.
TOLEDO AT A GLANCE // 6-9-1, 1-6-1 MAC
With two road conference games last weekend, the Rockets went 0-2 in MAC play. Toledo fell at Miami, 2-1, on Friday before dropping its other road game at Ball State, 2-1, on Sunday. In October, the Rockets are 0-5 while being outscored by their opponents 10-3 in those five games.
Toledo has had eight different players score this season, with a combined total of 19 goals. Led by forward Kiersten Johnson, the senior has scored eight different times this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Wilson has started in all 16 matches averaging 1.41 goals against.
Prior to Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, the Rockets host Northern Illinois on Friday.
