KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After a win and a tie over No. 20 Bowling Green on the weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team is receiving votes in both the USCHO.com poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
The Broncos (3-0-1) nearly broke into the USCHO.com's Top 20, receiving 82 points and finishing unofficially as 21st in the poll. WMU's total is up significantly from last week's poll that saw the team receiving 21 points after sweeping No. 20 Ferris State to open the season.
Western Michigan received 11 points, tying fellow National Collegiate Hockey Conference team Omaha, for the first time this season in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The total puts them in a tie for 21st with the Mavericks.
WMU is off this weekend but opens up NCHC play next weekend at Denver. The Broncos are home next on Nov. 4 and 5 against the Miami RedHawks. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX or online at wmubroncos.com.
