KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan football team has been voted as No. 20 in both
the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll and the
Associated Press Poll. The ranking is the highest in program history in either poll for the Broncos.
On Saturday, Western Michigan moved to 7-0 for the first time since 1941, following its 41-0 victory over Akron. The Broncos earned their first shutout since 2006 which also came at Akron.

Jarvion Franklin ran for a school-record 281 yards in the victory. For the season he has 795 total rushing yards, good for seventh in the country.
The Broncos return home on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m., as they will take on Eastern Michigan. With a win, Western Michigan will match the best start in program history at 8-0 and win the Michigan MAC Trophy for the third straight year with season sweeps over Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
