Christie Tarpley joins the WMU Women’s Soccer Staff this Spring after previously being the WMU Assistant Coach from 2000 – 2004. In that time she helped Western Michigan University to its first ever MAC Tournament Championship in 2003. She has also spent time as the Assistant Coach at Portage Central High School (2007 – 2011) where she helped guide the Mustangs to a State Championship in 2009.

Tarpley played her college career for Northwestern University where she was a 4-year letter winner from 1996 – 2000. In her studies, Christie also received a degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University.

Christie, a Portage, MI native graduated from Portage Central High School in 1996. A recent inductee into the Portage Central High School Hall of Fame still resides in Portage with her husband Chad, who was a WMU baseball player, and her three children Will, Nick and Zach.
